EMRY BOUTIQUE

Fashion-forward women in Madison Park don’t have to venture far to look like a million bucks.  They just need to hit Emry Boutique in Arboretum Court. Owned by Seattle native Ryan Walsh, the stylish shop offers a beautifully curated selection of on-trend clothing and accessories.  You’ll find everything from casual must-haves (think quality jeans and cozy cashmere sweaters) to outerwear, glam evening attire, and one-of-a-kind jewelry.

The boutique is a natural for Ryan who was interested in fashion from a young age; her first job was at the original Nordstrom’s downtown. She opened Emry in January 2018 and, in a testament to her grit, survived the long pandemic. She named Emry after her grandfathers (Emmet and Roy) and “whenever things get hard, I always remind myself of that and it’s one of those things that keeps me going.”  Ryan also notes she is very fortunate to have opened her boutique in the area in which she grew up (she attended St. Joseph and Seattle Prep). “The community has been very supportive,” she says, adding that she mostly advertises via word of mouth and Instagram (currently 3,000+ followers).

Why Shop Local?

This month, in particular, as Friends of Madison Park focuses on the importance of “shopping local,” Ryan offers her perspective: “Small businesses make our community unique and full of life. We are genuinely invested in our community and the people we serve, unlike a big box retailer. Your dollars stay in your community. You are supporting not only that small business but the designers and artisans they carry. You will always find unique pieces as opposed to those that are mass produced.”

Shop Local, Eat Local

And if you’re hungry or thirsty after shopping for those unique pieces, Ryan knows just where to send you. Her next-door neighbor in Arboretum Court: Nick’s on Madison, owned by her equally friendly husband, Nick Yockey.
