Important Updates

Yesterday our biweekly newsletter went out and we realized we needed to share a few time-sensitive updates:

McGilvra Elementary School Proposed Closure Information

The question has come up- What can we do as a neighborhood about the school closure?

Go to the McGilvra PTA Save our School page which will be updated with events and the groups the school is partnering with -https://mcgilvraelementarypta.wordpress.com/news/ or email advocacy@mcgilvrapta.org.

Join All Together for Seattle Schools and rally before the upcoming school board meeting this Wednesday September 18 at 3:45. The group will gather on the south lawn in front of the John Stanford Center. Bring your kids if needed and wear red to show your support for our school and every SPS school.

HOW CAN WE HELP EACH OTHER IN A DISASTER?

Get the answers on September 22 from 2-4pm in a special emergency drill at the Madison Park tennis courts.
Neighborhood volunteers will role-play how we can mobilize in the park to share resources and talent when communications are disrupted.
Stop by to pick up disaster prep materials and see how we’ll solve all sorts of problems in the event of a disaster.
Both adults and kids welcome! Everyone can participate in a five minute drill scenario during their visit.
This event is put on by the Madison Park Emergency Hub, an all volunteer org run by neighbors. For more information email madparkhub@gmail.com.
