SUPPORT OUR NEIGHBORHOOD MCGILVRA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Sometimes it’s not always easy to figure out how to support your Community. The McGilvra Auction on April 26 is a slam-dunk fun way to support the children and families in Madison Park. We all remember just months ago the real worry that Madison Park would be losing McGilvra with the school cuts. That’s far from a done concern, but we each have an opportunity to boost the school, the teachers and programs through the McGilvra Auction.
This event is a vital fundraiser for the school, helping to provide essential programs and resources for the students. For more information about sponsorships and tickets or donations, please visit the auction website at http://virtualauction.bid/mcgilvra2025auction or write to auction@mcgilvrapta.org.
Bathhouse Renovation & Shoreline Restoration Project – Community Update and Collaboration Session
MAY 6TH NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING- 7 P.M. AT THE BATHHOUSE
Mark Your Calendars: Our next Neighborhood Meeting will be focused on Next Steps for the Bathhouse and Beach Restoration Project.
We’ll review the feedback gathered through our community survey—which had responses from over 500 park users, including local residents and visitors from across the city. The survey highlighted key concerns with the current state of the park and surfaced inspiring ideas for improvements to the Bathhouse, the Beach and the Park.
During the meeting, we’ll do interactive work to help shape that vision together—and we’re actively looking for new members to join our project steering committee.
Representatives from Signal Architecture and Anchor QEA Landscape Architects will share early feasibility insights, examples of similar projects they’ve worked on, and answer community questions.
This is a pivotal moment in imagining what’s next for this beloved waterfront space—your voice matters!

UPDATES ON THE FARMER’S MARKET, THE ONE SEATTLE PLAN AND WELLS-FARGO
Thanks to all who submitted comments regarding the Farmer’s Market. The permitting process is still pending.
The One Seattle Plan is also still pending. The City Council is reviewing HB110 while the appeals process is ongoing. Friends of Madison Park has a hearing on the Appeal next week before the City’s Hearing Examiner and tentative meeting plans with the Office of Planning and Community Development to review our proposed changes to the boundaries and zoning designations for Madison Park, as well as inquiries regarding our stormwater infrastructure concerns.
The complaints regarding the Wells- Fargo signage are being heard by the bank and we have an expedited complaint reaching the corporate level. We will keep you posted with next steps shortly.
