THE YEAR TO VOLUNTEER

WELCOME 2024

The last few weeks may feel like a blur of food, gifts, football games and rainy days. Madison Park brought its best to the Fall with Halloween fun, our Warmth and Wine evening, and December festivities.

With those memories, we have now turned the page to 2024. Take a deep breath…..

THIS IS THE YEAR TO VOLUNTEER

- whether it be with an organization you have long admired or for an event/project here in your neighborhood. You’ll find good people doing good work; you’ll be reminded how to feed the soul by working with others for a common goal that benefits many.

This last year, a posse of energetic, unflagging neighbors helped bring back the bling to Madison Park. Every Board member, every committee chair and participant, balanced full lives outside of Friends of Madison Park with energy and humor to contribute to our community.

To name a few- your neighbor Elizabeth Talbot, a parent of 3 and president of the Madison Park Preschool Co-op, brought back the Children’s Parade and Picnic in July; Emily Morton, on top of her full time job  as a Sustainability Specialist in Renton, organized the revival of 4 weeks of Music in the Park; Anne Woodford, while teaching art full time in the Mercer Island School district, designed and created our Community Bulletin Board, updated our A-Boards, led our  Warmth and Wine auction and an artisan pop-up market. I could go on and on…These existing volunteers need extra help for our community events and committees.
