A SEASON OF CELEBRATION
Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice or no specific holiday- December is the time of year to gather, to feast, to enjoy friends and family and deck ourselves out in whatever sparkle we choose..
Friends of Madison Park thanks the community for the support and an extraordinary year of events, projects, plans and gatherings. As a volunteer association, we are not always perfect, always learning and always seeking to reach the full community. Join us in 2025 as a volunteer, a subscriber, a donor. Happy December!
December Activities Brighten Madison Park
December 14th was a day of blustery weather and bustle in the neighborhood. An Artisan Market was busy with shoppers, Pioneer Hall was filled with greenery during a wreath making class and Madison Park Coop Preschool hosted its winter wonderland activities for children. The night was capped with the Ugly Holiday Sweater Party at McGilvra’s Restaurant.
A highlight of the day was the Tree Lighting in the Park and 120 students from McGilvra Elementary School singing holiday songs- followed by roaming carolers in the neighborhood. Thanks so much to Holiday Lighting Pros for the spectacular tree, music teacher Elise Wright for the delightful singing, Madison Kitchen and Suzanne Kalish for the treats and cider, David Fitch and friends for musical accompaniment and all our merry volunteers. Christmas Ships on December 21 brought a cheerful crowd to Madison Park Beach for singing and the bonfire. Lots of neighbors were out dining and shopping, catching a photo with Santa at the Bathhouse and enjoying the starry skies. Thank you to Windermere Madison Park, Parkshore, Madison Park Coop Preschool and Madison Park Hardware for treats and Santa Photos.
